Assorted Aletheia 079 APOD

I promise I have a good reason for the lack of updates this week: Aletheia flew away Wednesday.

Aletheia's Pawpaw (her great-grandfather) had surgery Wednesday morning to install a pacemaker and defibrillator, and the Other Parent decided to fly out to help during the recovery period. This was Aletheia's second flight, and she did very well--contentedly looking out the window during the first half, sleeping through the long descent and landing. I'm told she entertained the flight attendants and about three rows around her with her patented trilling noise. ("What's that sound?" "I think it's the baby two rows ahead of us!")

The past few days have felt a little weird--it's the first time I've been home without Aletheia around. It's strange having no one else around here. I know I used to live alone, and it doesn't feel like all that long ago, but I don't remember it feeling like this. I thought I would like the alone time more than I do. Guess I miss the kid. And, um, the Other Parent, of course.

This is an unused pic from the archives, taken April 1st, when Aletheia was not quite nine months old. By the way, for those keeping score at home, the current tooth count is three, all in a row on the bottom.

I really like this picture. It's a little different than what you usually post. She's not smiling, but has such a sweet look on her face. I can't wait to see her later this week at the great grandparents.
